If you’re looking for someone new to talk to, why not try Alexa? (I know this sounds crazy, but I promise it’s fun, and haven’t we all been home with the same folks a lot in 2020?!)

When you say, “Alexa, let’s chat,” you’ll get connected to one of the finalists in Amazon’s chatbot competition, where you can talk about all sorts of topics. (When I chatted with her, we talked about birds, movies and music.)

While she’s not the most sparkling wit I ever spoke with, it’s amazing how well she responded to the things I said, and smoothly changed topics. It’s fun to see how the chatbots in each successive year’s competition get better.
