The Alexa in the bedroom works well for music, but she will not turn my light on anymore.
I don’t know what to do.
First, is your light still connected to your WiFi network? To check this, open the manufacturer’s app that you used to set up the light in the first place – if it’s no longer on your phone, you may need to redownload and reinstall it.
Once you’ve confirmed your light is still on the WiFi, can you control it with the manufacturer’s app? If so, confirm that you can turn it on and off with the Alexa app. To check this, open the Alexa app and choose “devices” at the bottom, then “Lights”, and select the one in your bedroom.
If you’re unable to turn it on and off with the Alexa app, you may need to re-enable the Amazon Alexa Skill to control the light. Search for the manufacturer’s Skill in the Amazon Store, and click “enable” – you may need to grant some permissions first.
If it still doesn’t work, I would suggest reaching out to the manufacturer for your WiFi bulb, plug, or switch to get their assistance.
If you follow these steps, you should be back online and working in no time!
