Try these Alexa skills to help you live healthier
#1. Ask Alexa for good-for-you recipes
I’ve definitely been eating my heart out lately since yummy food is one thing the pandemic hasn’t taken away.
But after four months of pandemic eating, it’s time to clean up my act.
Fortunately, all I have to say is “Alexa, open Food Network Kitchen” and ask for healthy recipes to get 25 great options (including some tasty looking healthy apple muffins!).
Pro Tip
Haven’t used Food Network Kitchen yet? You can try it free for a year if you have an Echo Show! Just say “Alexa, subscribe to Food Network Kitchen.” Tap/click here for more.
#2. Get nutrition tips from the experts at Mayo Clinic (NEW!)
I love how Alexa partners with the always-dependable Mayo Clinic for all kinds of essential health info — from first aid to the new daily nutrition tip.
Just say “Alexa, give me a nutrition tip,” and Alexa will give you a piece of helpful advice. Today I found out that eating just 8 strawberries will get me to half of my daily fruit intake goal — and I love strawberries!
#3. Make sure to drink enough water
It’s essential to stay hydrated during the summer, and I always lose track of how much water I’m drinking.
I recently discovered the MyFitnessPal Alexa skill which is a super easy way to log your water intake (and lots of other things like steps, calories and more).
To get started, tap/click here to sign up for a free MyFitnessPal account. Then say “Alexa, open MyFitnessPal,” connect your account, and you’ll be good to start tracking!
