We have an Echo in the living room, a Dot in the kitchen and another Dot in the bedroom. The one in the bedroom doesn’t answer to the wake word about half of the time. Is there any way to increase the sensitivity of the microphone on a Dot? The bedroom is probably the quietest room for ambient noise, yet the other two devices hear us over the TV and kitchen noises.

I think what might be happening is that when you say “Alexa” to your bedroom Echo Dot, you might inadvertently be waking up another one of the Echos in your home but not realizing it. The Echos in your home are smart enough that when you say “Alexa” you’ll only ever wake up one of your Echos — somehow they all coordinate with each other to ensure you don’t wake multiple Echos. The issue you’re describing used to happen to me all the time.
What I recommend is changing the wake word on your bedroom Echo to “Echo” — so when you want to speak to your bedroom Echo, say “Echo” and then your command.
